September 2019 – Present

Perksy is a next-gen consumer insights platform for brands and a category-creating rewards app for consumers.
  • Utilized Terraform to deploy React based frontend to AWS ECS with the use of gitlab, vault, and AWS ECR.
  • Deployed Persky’s updated company web page as a highly available/ fault tolerant application on AWS.
  • Lead infrastructure setup and deployment of Perksy’s version 2 backend services to Kubernetes.
  • Created Golang based deployment tool to handle dynamic creation/update/deletion of backend services in Kubernetes.

Software Engineer, Mckinsey & Company (New Ventures) - New York, USA
April 2018 – September 2019

Mckinsey & Co. New Ventures is the tech arm of Mckinsey & Co. focused on developing the technology infrastructure and platform for clients.
  • Used a HapiJs backend, React frontend, and Kubernetes to develop a value maximizer MVP for a large biomedical firm.
  • Utilized Golang, Nodejs, Terraform, and Ansible to create a sync tool that streamed uploads from Box to AWS S3.
  • Integrated Okta with AWS Cognito to handle firmwide authentication and authorization to AWS hosted data lake.
  • Carried out code reviews and explanations about application security to interns and junior developers .

Backend Engineer(Remote), Everforth - Jiyugaoka, Japan
August 2016 – March 2018

Everforth is a startup building a cloud-based customer relationship optimization PaaS, Prefer Cloud Platform.
  • Led development of fault-tolerant microservices in Java (deployed in Docker containers) to
    pull financial data from Thomson Reuters and GaiTame, used by a fintech startup for financial forecasting.
  • Designed a text-graph based web app using Scala to assist HR in monitoring employee/partner participation in work chats.
  • Developed a log searching app using Scala and Play to pull logs from AWS and mask personal information from results.
  • Planned, designed, and developed a Scala-based module to mask production database data and upload to a Docker repo.
  • Collaborated with Rakuten’s Mobile Payment Group to assist in api development using JavaEE to integrate Rakuten’s Card
    service platform to its Mobile Payment app called Rakuten Pay

IT Consultant, Fusion Systems Japan - Tokyo, Japan
April 2015 – July 2016

Fusion Systems is a consulting company focused on solutions for banks, retail engineering products, and managed IT services.
  • Used Rails to add a new invoice generator feature to Fusion’s project management web app Reactor.
  • Wrote new features using Spring, jQuery, HTML/CSS for CMS applications including ability to perform email search,
    pull statistics from AWS cloud watch, and set reservation time slots.
  • Contributed to a Spring MVC web app built for a chain restaurant to manage hiring, reservations, seating, and seating
    time calculations. Updated test code within reservation system to ensure an errorless service layer during data migration
    from MongoDB to MySQL.

Application Developer, Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization – Sendai, Japan
July 2014 – March 2015

TMMO is a bioinformatics supercomputer lab.
  • Refactored and added new functionalities to SUGAR, a quality control and filtering analysis software built using Java 7,
    Swing, and tested using JUnit.
  • Designed a Java 7 command line database extractor tool that extracted sequencer data stored as BAM from MySQL and
    used custom logic in Java to convert it to VCF for analysis.

Software Developer, Etos Corporation - Sendai, Japan
August 2013 – June 2014

Etos is a boutique strategy and technology consulting firm.
  • Constructed streaming servers for large encrypted data submissions.
  • Wrote Java applications to assist Miyagi Prefecture’s tsunami early warning systems.
  • Managed user database for an online portal site designed to deliver store announcements throughout Japan.
